The Green Job Bank announced that, for public interest, it will the track green jobs created over the next 6 months by the 10 winners of General Electric’s Ecomagination Challenge: Powering Your Home.

GE announced the 10 winners on June 23, 2011; as the company continues to prove its commitment to the green movement, it pledged a combined $63 million in financing to the 10 winners.

“$63 million is a large amount of money to invest in these companies. Revenue and job growth should be a direct result of GE’s investment,” said Bernard Ferret, founder of The Green Job Bank. “These companies won GE’s challenge because they are innovative; we look forward to tracking their success and green job creation over the next six months.”

As of today, the 10 winners of the Challenge have a total of 69 open positions, which were indexed from their websites and/or job boards by the Green Job Bank (with the exception of Project Frog that doesn't have a career section on its website). Here is the breakdown by company:

Hara software: 25
Sunrun: 16
GMZ Energy: 10
Ember: 6
On-Ramp Wireless: 6
Viridity: 2
VPhase: 2
Nuventrix: 1
Witricity: 1
Project Frog: 0

The Green Job Bank will publish a monthly report for the next 6 months, starting on July 31, 2011.

Launched in 2009, www.thegreenjobbank.com is the largest online aggregator of green jobs. The search engine crawls the web every day to provide the most current listings available from thousands of websites. The listings come from green employers, industry associations, non-profit organizations, trade associations, research labs, green recruiters, and green job boards. In June 2011, the search engine’s index of current green jobs reached 10,000 unique non-duplicate postings.

The site features hundreds of green employer profiles, enabling job seekers to research easily the green companies for which they want to work. The service is free to job seekers, employers, and recruiters. Premium services are available to employers and recruiters.
